TEAM COYOTE’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JOURNEY

Team Coyote Finishes 6th in the World

From Rookie Team to World Championship and ranked 6th in the World

The 2025-2026 FTC season has been an unforgettable journey for Team Coyote #30110. What started as a brand-new rookie team quickly turned into an adventure that exceeded all of our expectations.

At the beginning of the season, our goal was simple: learn, improve, and compete alongside some of the best teams in Southern California. As a newly formed team, we faced many challenges. We had to learn robot design, programming, strategy, outreach, and teamwork all at the same time. Every competition taught us valuable lessons, and every setback pushed us to work harder.

Through months of dedication, late-night testing, and countless design iterations, our robot continued to improve. Our team members spent hundreds of hours refining mechanisms, tuning software, and preparing for competitions. The hard work paid off as we advanced through league events, regional competitions, and eventually earned a spot at the 2026 FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston, Texas.

Competing at the World Championship was an incredible experience. We had the opportunity to meet students, mentors, and teams from around the world who shared the same passion for engineering and innovation. The level of competition was higher than anything we had experienced before, and every match required strategy, precision, and teamwork.

One of the highlights of the event was competing in the Franklin Division. Throughout qualification matches and alliance selection, our team consistently performed at a high level. We were honored to become an Alliance Captain and lead our alliance through the elimination rounds.

Together with our alliance partners, we fought through intense playoff matches and ultimately won the Franklin Division. This achievement earned us a place in the FTC World Championship Finals, where the top alliances from each division competed for the world title.

By the end of the event, Team Coyote finished 6th in the world. As a rookie team, reaching the World Championship Finals was something we never imagined at the start of the season. We are especially proud to have been the only California team to advance to the Finals as an Alliance Captain.

While the trophies and rankings are exciting, the most valuable part of this journey was the experience itself. We learned how to solve complex engineering problems, work effectively as a team, communicate under pressure, and persevere through challenges. These lessons will stay with us long after the competition season ends.

We would like to thank our mentors, families, supporters, volunteers, and fellow teams who helped us throughout the season. Your encouragement and guidance made this achievement possible.

This season may be over, but Team Coyote's journey is just beginning. We look forward to continuing to learn, innovate, and inspire as we prepare for the seasons ahead.

See you next season!
